SON LA – When the sun goes down, visitors listen to ethnic people performing arts, enjoy grilled food on the spot, take pictures with highland children…

Referring to Moc Chau tourism, visitors will think of plum valleys stretching as far as the eye can see, green tea hills or dairy farms, strawberry gardens. However, these spots can only be visited in the morning. As the sun began to set, Moc Chau had little experience. Chieng Di night market at Ban Art_Stay in Chieng Di 1 village, Van Ho commune, about 8 km from the town center is a suggestion for visitors to Moc Chau this season.

The night market is part of the community project “Art_Stay Ban – Going up the mountain, must stay in the village” by the group of pianist Pho An My. The group dedicated to people living on stilts and mobilized people to rebuild traditional houses, in order to preserve the beauty of ethnic minorities and not be “concreted”.

The market welcomes customers from 5pm, when the sun begins to set. Visitors who arrive early can take advantage of the sunny weather, check-in with mural walls with paintings recounting the lives of Thai, Dao, and Mong people. Crossing art roads, tea hills and a plum garden, visitors will come to the village located inside. Contrary to the gloomy atmosphere of Moc Chau in the evenings, the atmosphere in the village is bustling and full of tourists. Ethnic people wear clothes and dresses to prepare for tourist performances.

Ethnic children are eager to take pictures and have fun with tourists. Guests will be invited to eat meat, corn and potatoes. When the sunlight gave way to the lights, it was the most exciting time, the dishes were prepared, and the people’s musical performance began. You can try smoked ribs is a delicious, impressive dish or Ban pig, grilled fish, hill chicken, Thai banh chung… Visitors can buy brocade and agricultural products as gifts. .

The night market also has meaningful small corners such as a program to exchange recyclables for gifts, a 0-dong guest booth for children in mountainous areas. Visitors to the market contribute to helping people do tourism, using the unique cultural features here to create many jobs for many households in the village.

Each visitor here should bring a book to help fill the children’s bookshelf in the village.

The market is open for free, from 17h to 22h every Saturday.
