On the opening day of Hue Imperial Citadel night street, a number of people and tourists flocked to the busiest streets to enjoy art shows and shopping.

On the evening of April 22, at Ngo Mon Square, Hue Citadel, the People’s Committee of Hue City (Thua Thien – Hue) in collaboration with the Center for Conservation of Hue Monuments officially put into operation the night street of the Imperial Citadel of Hue. Right from the afternoon, locals and visitors soon flock to enjoy the special art shows.

Routes on August 23, Le Huan was packed with tourists. This is beyond the expectations of the organizers. Previously, Hue city had never attracted many people to the street at night, except during Hue Festivals.

Le Huan Street is the main place for displaying and trading unique traditional craft products and Hue cuisine of the Imperial Citadel at night. Here, visitors will be delighted to admire and shop for handmade products as souvenirs. Pham Thi Ngoc Anh (Quang Binh tourist) was surprised by the bustling festival atmosphere in Hue at night. “I have been to Hue many times, but this is the first time that I feel Hue is very different, bustling and vibrant than usual”, Ms. Anh shared.

In the parking area along with the Citadel, the organizers arrange art spaces for artists to perform art for visitors to admire. In the photo is a corner of calligraphy.

Night Street is a place for artisans of traditional craft villages in Hue to practically demonstrate how to make unique products in front of visitors. “The night street is a space for our artisans to bring their products closer to the people. They will see first-hand how the products are made,” said Ms. Lan, an incense-making artist.

The beautiful incense buds are created by artisans with a characteristic aroma that makes many visitors admire.

Not only a place to display handicraft products, Hue Imperial City night street is also a place for artists and young people to perform community art. These performances attract a large number of people to enjoy.

The opening of the night street by the Hue city government has created favorable conditions for households in the streets around the Imperial Citadel to develop business and serve tourists with food services.

The People’s Committee of Hue City has built the project of Hue Imperial Citadel Night Street with the outer space of the Imperial Citadel and four roads: August 23, Le Huan, Dang Thai Than and Doan Thi Diem. In the immediate future, the city will pilot the night streets on 23 August and Le Huan streets, as a basis for the overall formation of the Hue Imperial Citadel night street.
