LAM DONG – Purple phoenix flowers originating from South America are blooming, bringing romantic beauty to the land of thousands of flowers.

The Da Lat “old man” phoenix tree is 60 years old in the area of ​​​​Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street. The tree can be beautiful, blooms every year and is a favorite destination of photographers.

Sam Sam said this is one of the three oldest phoenix trees, first planted in Da Lat, including at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street, Bich Cau flower garden and in front of Thuy Ta restaurant. Particularly, the tree in front of Thuy Ta restaurant was broken in 2019 due to heavy rain, so it could not be saved.

Purple phoenix trees are in full bloom on Hoang Van Thu – Tran Phu street. Purple phoenix is ​​a flower with gentle beauty, typical in the spring and summer seasons in Da Lat.

Purple phoenix has the scientific name Jacaranda acutifolia, originating from South America and imported to Vietnam and grown most in Da Lat since the 1970s. The flowers bloom usually in March, can last until early April.

Author Sam Sam said that every season when flowers bloom, he takes a camera and wanders the streets with purple phoenixes, simply because he loves this flower and captures a little memory.

Currently, the routes and places with beautiful blooming flowers are Da Lat market, along Xuan Huong Lake, Tran Khanh Du, Nguyen Luong Bang, Nguyen Van Cu or Yagout slope in Ward 5 on the photo.
