NDO – Relic sites in the capital city of Hanoi have been allowed to reopen and welcome back visitors since February 12, following a long period of closure due to COVID-19 pandemic.


In a recent dispatch sent to People’s Committees of districts and towns in Hanoi, the municipal Department of Culture and Sports has asked localities to strengthen COVID-19 preventive measures at local relic sites.

The reopening of relic sites needed to be done based on current risk assessment following the city authorities’ guidance, and must be carried out in line with health regulations of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and relevant agencies.

Local People’s Committees are requested to instruct management boards of historical and cultural sites to devise plans and prepare equipment for COVID-19 prevention and control.

Accordingly, the sites must be sterilised before reopening for tourists while QR Code for online healthcare declaration must be displayed prominently help in managing the records of visitors for contact tracing purposes.

Visitors are encouraged to receive at least two shots of COVID-19 vaccine or test negative with the disease within 72 hours using RT-PCR method before their visit to the sites.

Regarding festivals, only basic rituals will be held, while activities that attract crowds remain limited.
