“European heaven” corner in cave land

QUANG BINH – To Phong Nha, visitors can visit churches with Western architecture, in harmony with natural beauty, caves.

Na Catholic Church is located on the bank of Son River, opposite Oxalis headquarters – the only unit operating Son Doong tour. With his back leaning against the mountain forest, the church with yellow paint as a tourist attraction when sitting on a boat to admire the Son River.

Chay parish church is located in Chay village, Source Son parish, Phuc Trach, Bo Trach district. The church campus has many stone benches in front of the ancient bell tower.

Inside the church is a statue of Our Lady of Grace placed on the rocky mountain, decorated with many ornamental trees.

Chay parish was established in 1924, separated from Gia Hung parish. Currently, the parish has over 3,700 parishioners with 2 religious families, Chay (ruler) and Bau Sen. On the way to Chay Parish Church, visitors can jog and cycle on the Ho Chi Minh West street.

Bong Lai Parish Church located in the valley of Bong Lai, Bo Trach district, is a tourist attraction for visitors to visit the tourist village. Besides visiting and taking photos with the church, visitors can cycle on village roads, watch the green rice fields, small houses and farms.

Gia Hung Parish Church has a unique look when blending between European and Vietnamese architecture. The walls carved with gilded paintings revolve around Catholic monuments.

Stone is the main material for the construction of churches. The church was built by the people in Bo Trach for 4 years, inaugurated in early 2017. The railing of the ladder has the image of a lost bird, a “beast” in the mind of the Vietnamese. The church has a blade roof like a typical architecture of Vietnamese temples.

Opposite the church is a large garden, with many mossy statues recounting the life of Jesus.

Ha Thanh Catholic Church is located near Gia Hung Parish, in Bo Trach district. Construction inaugurated May 1, 2003. The gold-painted walls and the steps are covered with moss, adding an ancient touch to the church.
