Intersection between Belt Road No.3 and Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway before opening to traffic


The intersection has a total length of 1.5km and received total investment of over VND400 billion, which is also connected with Co Linh Street.

NDO – After more than a year of construction, the intersection between Belt Road No.3 and Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway is nearing completion and is expected to be open to traffic on January 9.


The construction of the project commenced on January 6, 2020, to be completed in a total of 14 months.


The project aims to facilitate vehicles in travelling through the intersection conveniently and safely while helping shorten their journeys and optimise Belt Road No.3, Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway and Co Linh Street, contributing to reducing traffic congestion in this area.


Workers were completing the last items of the intersection on the afternoon on January 6, including marking painting and the installation of reflective road markers, concrete median, railing systems, drainage systems, signboards and others.


The intersection is located in the districts of Long Bien and Gia Lam.


Co Linh route connecting with Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway is designed with 10 mixed lanes.


Deputy head of the project, Tran Tuan Anh, said that the project will be completed over two months ahead of schedule. About 99% of the project is finished and ready to serve people.


Workers work five shifts per day to complete the last items of the project including tree planting, marking painting, cleaning and others.



Workers are painting the signs and planting trees.


Road marking is being carried out urgently.


Completed areas are cleaned to stand ready for the opening day.


The lighting systems are checked for the last time before being put into use.


Traffic signs and instructions are installed.


The project is expected to contribute to reducing traffic congestion and promoting the socio-economic development of Hanoi.
