Vietnamese fashion conquers the world

Photo: Vo Thinh /CVN During London Fashion Week September 17-22 Vietnamese stylist Tran Hung presented his new Spring /Summer 2021 collection.

On this occasion, he followed the trend with the use of eco-friendly materials such as organza, taffeta, chiffon and satin. Ninety percent of the raw materials it uses are environmentally friendly and ethically sourced.

Tran Hung is one of the well-established brands in the high-end fashion market, captivating its audience with its sophisticated creations that push the boundaries of design. Its romantic style combines Asian and Western inspirations, with hand embroidery on silk and organza.

Hung was born in 1988 in the northern province of Yen Bai. Over the past four years, he has launched four collections including children's designs presented at Vietnam Junior Fashion Week 2019.

He made his London Fashion Week debut in September 2019 with pastel colors and see-through ball gowns. Some of her designs have appeared on the websites of major international fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and Elle.

In addition, he is an official member of the British Fashion Council. “This is a great joy for a young designer like me,” he shared.

For his part, Trang Le has just been appointed president of the Stylists Council of Southeast Asia. It is a great honor for the Vietnamese fashion industry, Vietnam to have for the first time a great personality at the head of fashion in ASEAN.

Its line of products “Phuong My made in Italy” is made by two Italian workshops. This Vietnamese, born in 1988 presented her collections at Fashion Week in New York in 2019 Vancouver in 2018 and Dubai in 2017. In addition, she was nominated for the Fashion Wedding Dress Design Award wedding ceremony (BrideLux Industry Awards) 2019 in London.

Difference and originality

Many other Vietnamese stylists over the past three years have focused on expanding overseas markets such as Cong Tri, Adrian Anh Tuan, Kelly Bui, Hoang Hai, Thuy Nguyen…

Their collections have appeared in the world's biggest fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, etc.

Among these Vietnamese designers, Nguyen Cong Tri has attracted the attention of many international stars such as Rihanna, Katy Perry, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus. Ms. Obama even chose the Nguyen Cong Tri brand to dress for important events.

Nguyen Cong Tri's creations are always at the forefront of trends and are imbued with powerful influences. They are distinguished by a style that is both avant-garde and steeped in tradition.

During Tokyo Fashion Week 2016 and 2017 Cong Tri surprised fashionistas with his collections called Lua (Rice) and Em Hoa (My flowers). His Lua collection was created with Lanh My A silk, a rare traditional silk made by artisans in the southern province of An Giang.

“Difference easily attracts attention and even generates success. During New York Fashion Week, I didn't launch street style like other designers. My two spring-summer 2020 collections presented during this Fashion Week have been praised by international magazines ”, explained Cong Tri.

Lanh My A silk was also used by stylist Patrick Pham for his Ngoc Vien Dong (Perle d'Etreme-Orient) collection, presented at Paris Fashion Week Fall /Winter 2019-2020. “The creations of some Vietnamese designers have been worn by international stars. I believe that the use of traditional Vietnamese materials combined with modern Western materials is attracting a lot of attention from the global public. And I think this path will help the world to have a more surprising vision of Vietnamese fashion ”, shared Patrick Pham.
