Difference and originality
Many other Vietnamese stylists over the past three years have focused on expanding overseas markets such as Cong Tri, Adrian Anh Tuan, Kelly Bui, Hoang Hai, Thuy Nguyen…
Their collections have appeared in the world's biggest fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, etc.
Among these Vietnamese designers, Nguyen Cong Tri has attracted the attention of many international stars such as Rihanna, Katy Perry, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus. Ms. Obama even chose the Nguyen Cong Tri brand to dress for important events.
Nguyen Cong Tri's creations are always at the forefront of trends and are imbued with powerful influences. They are distinguished by a style that is both avant-garde and steeped in tradition.
During Tokyo Fashion Week 2016 and 2017 Cong Tri surprised fashionistas with his collections called Lua (Rice) and Em Hoa (My flowers). His Lua collection was created with Lanh My A silk, a rare traditional silk made by artisans in the southern province of An Giang.
“Difference easily attracts attention and even generates success. During New York Fashion Week, I didn't launch street style like other designers. My two spring-summer 2020 collections presented during this Fashion Week have been praised by international magazines ”, explained Cong Tri.
Lanh My A silk was also used by stylist Patrick Pham for his Ngoc Vien Dong (Perle d'Etreme-Orient) collection, presented at Paris Fashion Week Fall /Winter 2019-2020. “The creations of some Vietnamese designers have been worn by international stars. I believe that the use of traditional Vietnamese materials combined with modern Western materials is attracting a lot of attention from the global public. And I think this path will help the world to have a more surprising vision of Vietnamese fashion ”, shared Patrick Pham.
