Vietnamese Tourism Launches Sustainable Travel Online Page
The Vietnam National Tourism Administration (ANTV), the Tourism Advisory Board (TAB) and the Swiss Sustainable Tourism Program (SSTP) have teamed up to launch a new page titled "Green Travel" on the national tourism website : http://www.vietnam.travel/sustainability.
Users who visit the page will find articles on best practices for responsible travelers, guides on respecting Vietnamese customs and local etiquette, as well as articles highlighting the country’s lesser-known destinations.
To make it easier for travelers to find sustainable tourism providers in Vietnam, the website features a catalog of reputable companies across the country. Visitors can look for exceptional tours that are educational, ethical and ecological at the same time; find sustainable accommodation among lodges, host families and hotels; and discover souvenirs such as crafts, textiles and stationery brands that preserve Vietnamese culture and support local communities. The page also features infographics on sustainable Vietnam travel and in-depth stories for those interested in ethnic minorities and traditional Vietnamese craft villages.
To make the experience actionable for travelers planning trips, a collection of leading tour operators delivering sustainable experiences is also included. Tourism officials said the "Green Travel" page represents progress and a first step in Vietnam's efforts to support sustainable travel agencies and help responsible travelers come to Vietnam.
Over the next few months, the national tourism website will feature first videos showcasing the best assets of sustainable tourism and the country's exceptional experiences.
Vietnam also recently launched the "Virtual Vietnam" page at the site. www.vietnam.travel/virtual-vietnam , encouraging travelers to explore the country even when borders are closed. The page offers virtual travel experiences such as 360-degree tours, local recipes, coloring pages, and immersive videos. VNA /CVN
