HCMC set to start work on Beltway 3 in next 10 days

HCMC – The government of HCMC has approved a plan to commence work on the Beltway No. 3 section passing through the city on June 18.

Local authorities have handed over 334.5 hectares of cleared land to the project, which accounts for 81.5% of the land required. The land handover is expected to be completed by the end of December this year.

Relevant agencies have been instructed to expedite the progress of site clearance, compensation and resettlement.

The 76-kilometer Beltway No. 3 will pass through HCMC, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, and Long An. Among these, a 47-kilometer section will go through HCMC’s Thu Duc City and three districts — Cu Chi, Hoc Mon and Binh Chanh.

HCMC, Binh Duong, and Long An will commence work on the project in June, while Dong Nai Province will do the same next month.

The project requires a total of over VND75 trillion, of which over VND 41,500 trillion has been allocated for land clearance and resettlement and nearly VND26 trillion for construction and equipment procurement.
