Winners of Vietnam Environment Awards announced

The organising board present the A prizes of the 6th Natural Resources and Environment Journalism Contest to winners at the ceremony.   

NDO - The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment organised a ceremony in Hanoi, on July 31, to honour the winners of the Vietnam Environment Awards and the 6th Natural Resources and Environment Journalism Contest.


The ceremony was attended by Party Central Committee (PCC) members: Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha; Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung, who is Deputy Head of the PCC Commission for Communication and Education; Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, Deputy Head of the PCC Commission for Communication and Education, and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association Le Quoc Minh; Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, who is also Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; General Director of the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) Do Tien Si; General Director of Vietnam Television Le Ngoc Quang; and leaders of ministries, departments, branches, units and individuals.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha said that the Vietnam Environment Awards, which is the highest award for the environment, is held every two years to honour the organisations, individuals and communities who have made great contributions to the cause of environmental protection.

In addition, the Vietnam Environment Awards is also an incubator for policy solutions and innovative models, contributing to the country's sustainable development.

Many award-winning initiatives have been put into practice, contributing to reducing and improving environmental quality, promoting renewable energy, green growth, responding to climate change, and sustainable development in all directions and all industries of the country.

The Natural Resources and Environment Journalism Contest is also periodically held every two years to honour press reporters with outstanding achievements, who are always ready and accompanied in information and raising public awareness to contribute to the cause of environmental protection.

The journalistic works submitted for this competition are highly topical, discoverable, deeply critical, problem-solving, and reflect comprehensively, objectively and honestly on issues in resource and environment management, responding to climate change; propagating positive models and images in society on rational use of natural resources, environmental protection, and biodiversity conservation.

The organising board of the 6th Natural Resources and Environment Journalism Contest 2021 selected and honoured 36 outstanding entries.
