Hanoi takes measures to prevent COVID-19 deaths amid rising cases

Hanoi is making great efforts to minimise COVID-19 deaths.

NDO - The Hanoi Department of Health has asked public and private hospitals in the capital city to take measures to prevent COVID-19 deaths, with daily cases having soared to over 1,800 cases on December 26.

Hanoi has recorded daily cases of over 1,000 for more than ten days.

Under the health department’s guidelines, COVID-19 patients should be classified and have their risks determined such that they can receive prompt and adequate treatment.

Patients must be screened thoroughly, especially regarding their vaccination history.

Hospitals should arrange dedicated movement lanes and check-up zones to protect vulnerable groups, including people who are over 50, those with underlying conditions, and those who have not been inoculated or not fully vaccinated.

The health department also asked COVID-19 treatment facilities to prepare two layers of treatment to promptly treat worsening cases.

All hospitals are not allowed to deny the admission of severe and critical patients, and must ensure that they receive emergency care at the nearest hospitals before being transferred to the appropriate treatment facilities.

COVID-19 treatment facilities are also required to review their oxygen systems to ensure sufficient supply for patients.
