NDO - French President Emmanuel Macron announced on August 12 that France will provide 670,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine for Vietnam through the COVAX facility.
He wrote on Twitter that to win the fight against the pandemic, access to vaccine must be global and equitable, that is why France has just shared 670,000 doses with Vietnam.
During the phone talks earlier on June 14, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his French counterpart Jean Castex agreed to share experience in the battle against the pandemic, help each other with COVID-19 vaccines and coordinate in post-pandemic economic recovery.
As part of the talks, PM Chinh said Vietnam wants to further enhance the traditional, trusted and strategic partnership with France.
For his part, the French leader spoke highly of the strategic partnership, saying Vietnam is also a leading partner of France in the region.
He praised Vietnam’s position and role in the region and the world as well, particularly the achievements the country has recorded in COVID-19 containment and socio-economic development.
