NDO – In addition to experts from the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases, the MoH has mobilised a number of medical staff and doctors from the Can Tho Central General Hospital and Hue Central Hospital to strengthen human resources for treatment in the southern province of Dong Thap.
Experts from the MoH surveyed and worked directly at six COVID-19 treatment facilities in the province, as well helping establish a treatment network to assess patients’ health status 24 hours a day and provide remote support when needed.
On July 14, the MoH issued Document No.5599/BYT-MT to the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities on reducing quarantine times, piloting home quarantine for F1s, and managing the treatment of COVID-19 patients.
Due to the complicated developments of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has sent an official dispatch to the education and training departments, vocational education centres, foreign-invested schools; centres for foreign languages, informatics, cultural and skill training; foreign-invested short-term training and retraining establishments; preschool education institutions, on the strengthening of COVID-19 prevention and control measures.
An additional 1,196 cases of COVID-19 were reported in the six and a half hours to 12:30pm on July 14, raising the national tally to 36,605, according to the Health Ministry.
Ho Chi Minh City still accounted for the largest number of newly-detected cases with 971, followed by Tien Giang 115, Dong Thap 91, Phu Yen eight, Ben Tre three, Bac Giang two, and Thua Thien – Hue, Vinh Phuc, Lao Cai, Lam Dong, Nghe An, and Hanoi one each. Of the cases, 1,095 were detected in quarantine facilities or locked down areas.
As of 12:30 pm, Vietnam had seen 34,656 domestically-infected cases and 1,949 imported ones. The number of recoveries stood at 9,553. A total of 33,086 infections have been reported since the fourth outbreak hit the country, 6,779 of whom have been given the all-clear.
Among the active patients, 307 have tested negative for the coronavirus once, 114 twice and 81 thrice. A total of 4,079,066 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered nationwide so far, with 283,884 people receiving the full two shots.
