NDO – The intense heat in the Northern region is likely to last until July 5, while in the Central region, it will gradually decrease from July 6.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today (July 3), the Foehn wind caused by the impact of the southeastern edge of the western hot low-pressure area will continue causing hot weather in the northeast region, southern Son La Province, Hoa Binh Province, and the central region with temperatures ranging from 36-39 degrees Celsius.

In the central region in particular, some places may face extreme sweltering heat as the mercury may rise to 39C.

Temperatures of over 35C will last from 10-18 hours.

The lowest relative humidity is at 45-60%.

Due to the influence of the prolonged and intense heat combined with low humidity in the air and strong southwest winds, there is a high risk of fires and explosions in residential areas due to the high demand for electricity, as well as a high risk of bush fires in the central region.

In addition, the hot weather can also cause dehydration, exhaustion, and heat stroke for those exposed to high temperatures for long periods of time.
