HCMC – Vietnam’s Covid-19 cases have climbed to 16,623 up to now, with 116 fresh cases confirmed by the Ministry of Health this afternoon, June 30.

The new patients included one imported case and 115 locally-transmitted cases.

Among the domestic infections, HCMC, which is the country’s second biggest coronavirus hotspot in the current wave, accounted for the most, with 63 cases.

HCMC was followed by the neighboring province of Binh Duong with 24 cases, Hung Yen with nine, Bac Giang with eight, Bac Ninh with five, and Phu Yen with two. Meanwhile, Long An, Binh Dinh, Haiphong and Bac Kan had one case each.

According to the ministry, 112 of the 116 cases were found in quarantine centers or areas under lockdown.

In related news, the HCMC authorities are tracing contacts of a Covid-19 patient who is a staff member at MM Mega Market An Phu in An Phu Ward, Thu Duc City.

According to the notice, people that had visited the supermarket during the following periods should contact the local health authority for making health declarations and following anti-virus measures: 14:00-23:00 on June 14 and 15; 17:00-22:00 on June 16; 6:00-22:00 on June 17; 6:00-21:00 on June 18; 6:00-16:00 on June 19; 6:00-23:00 on June 20; 14:00-23:00 on June 21; 6:00-22:00 on June 22; 17:00-22:00 on June 23; 6:00-22:00 on June 24; 6:00-21:00 on June 25; 6:00-16:00 on June 26; and 6:00-23:00 on June 27.

Also, residents in An Phu Ward should visit the ward’s clinic at 168 Nguyen Hoang Street to receive guidelines on anti-Covid-19 measures. Residents can contact the ward’s vice chairman Nguyen Thai Tuan Anh via his mobile phone at 0939 038 879 or the medical station at 028 22537896.

The Mega Market An Phu suspended operations from June 29 until further notice to serve the fight against the coronavirus. Essential food products of the supermarket will be transferred to the other three facilities of the supermarket chain for consumption, including MM Hiep Phu in District 12, MM Binh Phu in District 6, and MM Hung Phu in Thu Duc City.
