HCMC - HCMC has put into operation a field hospital for Covid-19 treatment with 1,000 beds at the dormitory of the National Defense and Security Education Center.

The HCMC Department of Health has mobilized nearly 100 doctors and nurses from different hospitals in the city and the Thu Duc City Medical Center for the new field hospital. The hospital is also equipped with a mobile digital radiography X-ray machine using Artificial Intelligence and ambulances from the 115 Emergency Center.

The hospital will mainly handle asymptomatic cases and those with mild symptoms. It is expected to reduce the strain on other Covid-19 treatment hospitals in the city and help frontline hospitals focus on treating patients in critical condition.

The HCMC Department of Health has also established another field hospital for Covid-19 treatment with 4,000 beds in Linh Trung Ward, Thu Duc City. Based on what is on the ground in the city, the hospital will be put into operation in accordance with the directive of the HCMC steering committee for Covid-19 infection prevention and control.

HCMC has converted some general and specialized hospitals into ones for Covid-19 treatment, with a total of 5,000 beds. With the two new field hospitals, the city now has 10,000 beds for Covid-19 patients.
