HCMC – As many parts of Vietnam are facing the resurgence of Covid-19, the HCMC Department of Education and Training recently proposed the municipal government allow students citywide to stop attending school starting from May 10, aimed at preventing the spread of the disease.

Earlier, on May 5, the department issued guidelines for schools to adjust their learning and teaching plans and complete the second semester exams in school before May 9, instead of before May 15 as originally scheduled, reported Thanh Nien newspaper.

The city’s schools were told to apply more testing methods such as practice exercises and learning projects to ease the students’ learning pressure at the time, based on the Ministry of Education and Training’s regulations on evaluating and categorizing student progress.

As of now, the 12th graders in the city have reportedly completed the tests required for the second semester, while students of the remaining grades are taking their tests.
