
Mr. Phuc made the statement at a meeting on Sunday with the visiting Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith.
Mr. Thongloun praised Vietnam’s achievements in national construction and development, international integration, and particularly its dual goals of containing the epidemic and restoring economic growth.
He said Laos will continue to support Vietnam as this year’s ASEAN chair.
The two leaders exchanged ideas on a number of global and regional issues and agreed to continue coordinating within forums.
They underscored the importance of maintaining peace, stability, and respect for the law, especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
