Health Ministry reports 14 new imported Covid-19 cases

HCMC - Vietnam’s Covid-19 tally has jumped by 14 to 2,683 this evening, April 9, with all of the fresh cases being Vietnamese returnees from overseas and quarantined upon their arrival in the country, according to the Health Ministry.

Among them, a 19-year-old male resident of An Giang Province entered Vietnam through Thuong Phuoc Border Gate in Dong Thap Province on April 6. He tested positive for Covid-19 on April 8 and is under medical treatment at the Hong Ngu General Hospital in Dong Thap.

In addition, four patients, aged from 24 to 53, were confirmed in Kien Giang Province. On April 7, they returned home through Ha Tien International Border Gate in the province and are being treated at the medical center of Ha Tien City, Kien Giang Province.

Another patient is a 17-year-old man in HCMC. On March 25, he flew home from Canada through the Tan Son Nhat International Airport and is being treated at the Cu Chi Field Hospital.

The next five patients, aged from 29 to 37, were diagnosed in Danang. On April 7, they arrived home from Japan on flights VJ3613 and VJ8859, which landed at the Danang International Airport. All of them are being treated at the Danang Lung Hospital.

Two patients in Bac Ninh, including a 52-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man, returned from Angola on March 31 on flight VN88 and landed at the Van Don International Airport and were sent to a quarantine center in Bac Ninh.

The two are being treated at the provincial General Hospital.
