NDO – The French Embassy in Vietnam and the National Library of Vietnam on April 7 unveiled a digital library at https://heritage.bnf.fr/france-vietnam.

It is considered a “Common Heritage” collection, consisting of more than 2,000 documents from the collections of the two national libraries and partners.

The digital library includes a variety of documents from the 17th to mid-20th century such as prints, manuscripts, maps, paintings, pictures and even audio that can be searched in French and Vietnamese.

In addition, there are also about 20 introductory articles by experts, researchers and librarians from both France and Vietnam that can help readers better understand thecontext of the documents.

For the first time, documents from the Indochina period, from 1922 to 1954, have been digitised. This is a diverse collection of documents including translations of Western and Vietnamese works, new literary creations, textbooks and technical books.
