Fourteen new cases send Vietnam’s Covid-19 tally to 2,617

HCMC - The Ministry of Health has confirmed 14 new Covid-19 cases, all imported, in Ca Mau, Kien Giang and Ben Tre provinces, taking the country’s tally to 2,617 as of this evening, April 1.

Ca Mau Province reported one new case, a 26-year-old man residing in Tan Phu District, HCMC.

The man returned to Vietnam from the Philippines on Flight VJ2527 on March 29, and was transported to Ca Mau for quarantine right after arriving at the Can Tho International Airport. The patient is being treated at Ca Mau Province General Hospital.

Kien Giang Province also reported one new case, a 20-year-old man residing in Thuy Nguyen District, Haiphong City. He returned to Vietnam through the Ha Tien International Border Gate in Kien Giang on March 30. The patient is undergoing treatment at Ha Tien City Medical Center.

Twelve of the new cases were reported in Ben Tre Province. The patients, aged between 21 and 33, came back to the country from the Philippines on Flight VJ2527 on March 29. They were transported to Ben Tre for quarantine upon arriving at the Can Tho International Airport. All of them are being treated at Ben Tre Province Tuberculosis and Lung Disease Hospital.

Up to now, 2,359 Covid-19 patients in the country have fully recovered.
