Vietnamese contestant Ngoc Thao entered the top 20 in the swimsuit competition at Miss Grand International 2021 pageant thanks to the audience's votes.

According to the organizing board of Miss Grand International 2021, 10 contestants in the top 20 best swimsuit performances were voted by the audience via social networks and 10 were selected by the jury.

Ngoc Thao was among the 10 contestants selected by the audience on social networks. She got 73,000 interactions and 171,000 shares. Other representatives in the top 10 most voted contestants include women from Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Mexico, Ecuador, Guatemala, Myanmar, Paraguay, and Colombia.

The 10 contestants selected by the judge included representatives of the US, Kenya, Thailand, Brazil, Argentina, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, the Czech Republic, Peru, and the Dominican Republic. The organizers will announce the title Miss Swimsuit in the finale on March 27.

The swimsuit competition took place on the rooftop of a hotel in Bangkok, Thailand on March 20. Candidates wore a blue bikini, high heels and performed according to country name order on a fairly long catwalk, which included stairs and podiums. Ngoc Thao almost fell during her performance, as did many other contestants.

Ngoc Thao is the second runner-up of Miss Vietnam 2020 pageant. At this beauty contest she entered the Top 5 of Miss Sea and Top 5 of Miss Fashion competition. Thao, 21, 1.74m tall, 81-61-95 cm of body measurement, is a student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.

The current Miss Grand International is Valentina Figuera from Venezuela.
