Major streets in Hanoi have been decked out in national flags, banners, and decorations to prepare for the upcoming 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Decorations and preparations for the very important event have been complete in all districts, along major streets, and at the headquarters of centrally-run and Hanoi agencies, the Vietnam News Agency quoted vice-chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Xuan Dung as saying on Tuesday.
All houses and institutions are required to fly the national flag from January 15 to February 14, Dung added.
Before, during, and after the Congress, thousands of officers and soldiers will be deployed to ensure security and safety.
The municipal health department is outlining COVID-19 prevention and control plans at different levels.
The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports plans to hold 85 music shows to celebrate the 13th National Party Congress, 91st founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and 2021 Lunar New Year.
A special music show is scheduled for February 2 at My Dinh National Stadium to celebrate the success of the Congress, which is expected to be attended by 15,000 people.
The 13th National Party Congress will take place at the National Convention Center in Hanoi from January 25 to February 2, with the attendance of 1,587 delegates.
