Shares advance on strong cash flow
The benchmark VN-Index on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange gained 1.36 per cent to end the morning session at
Viet Nam’s stock market rose again on Thursday morning as investors continued to focus on blue-chip stocks.
The benchmark VN-Index on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange increased 0.54 per cent to 1,149.33 points. The gain follows an increase of nearly 1 per cent in the large-cap tracker VN30-Index.
In the morning trading session, the VN30-Index gained 0.76 per cent to 1,122.14 points. Sixteen of the 30 large-cap stocks in the VN30 basket increased, while thirteen declined. Of which, ten stocks increased more than 1 per cent in the morning trade, with banking stocks dominating the gains.
Property developer Novaland Investment Group Corporation (NVL) was the biggest gainer this morning with a growth of 5.5 per cent to VND70,400.
Banking stocks also posted big gains, including HDBank (HDB) up 3.7 per cent; Techcombank (TCB), up 2.9 per cent; VietinBank (CTG) up 2.8 per cent; and Vietcombank (VCB) up 2.1 per cent.
The HNX-Index also gained in the morning trade, up 1.33 per cent to 214.49 points. — VNS
