Vietnamese airlines have operated 307 flights, bringing more than 65,000 Vietnamese people home since April. 440 of the passengers carried with coronavirus. Since November, 17 flight attendants have tested positive for the virus.
“All quarantine facilities must be inspected regularly to ensure they are up to par. A mandatory 14-day quarantine will be followed by another 14 days of health monitoring in the place of residence as per regulations. All violators must be strictly dealt with,” said Deputy PM Dam, who also heads the National Steering Commitee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
Health experts at the meeting said a COVID-19 vaccine will be available in Vietnam by next year at the earliest.
As of Monday, Vietnam reported 1,366 COVID-19 cases. 1,220 have recovered and 35 have died. The country has recorded no domestic transmission for 6 consecutive days.
