During the session which began on October 20, lawmakers debated socio-economic development plans, the State Budget, and medium-term public investment among others.

NA Vice Chairman Phung Quoc Hien said, “Legislators applauded the Government’s direction and the political system’s determination to support people and businesses during COVID-19. So far, the epidemic has been kept under control, the economy is surviving and the national defense and security have been maintained.”

NA Deputy Secretary General Nguyen Truong Giang said, “The National Assembly has passed laws including those on environmental protection and handling administrative violations, and resolutions on land use for defense and security, and Ho Chi Minh City’s municipal government.”

Bui Thanh Tung, a deputy for Hai Phong, said, “The Q&A session did not limit the content or topic of questions. NA deputies asked questions about current issues of public concern, and pending issues from previous meetings. The questions were straight to the point and the answers were clear and sufficient. They explained the government’s socio-economic management, identified achievements and problems, and outlined solutions.”
