According to the ministry’s report, the new patients include four Russian male experts aged between 25-62 who landed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on November 8.
They were sent to a local quarantine area in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province upon arrival and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on November 10.
The four patients are now being treated at the Ba Ria General Hospital.
One other patient is a 45-year-old German man who came from Singapore to Vietnam to work in Ninh Thuan Province.
He also arrived at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on November 8.
He was sent to a quarantine area in Ninh Thuan Province upon arrival and tested positive for coronavirus on November 9.
The patient is now being treated at Ninh Thuan Provincial General Hospital.
The next patients are three Vietnamese men who returned from Russia to Van Don International Airport on a repatriation flight on October 31.
They were sent to quarantine in Hoa Binh Province upon arrival and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on November 10.
The three patients are being treated at Hoa Binh Provincial General Hospital.
Earlier, 19 other people who boarded this flight had been infected with coronavirus.
Two last patients are two Vietnamese men aged 28 and 61 who recently returned from Japan and the US. They are now being treated at hospitals in Danang City and Quang Nam Province.
With these new infection cases, the number of imported Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 535.
As of 6 pm on November 10, a total of 1,087 Covid-19 patients had recovered and been discharged from hospital. There have been 35 deaths, most of them being the elderly with serious underlying diseases.
The country has gone 68 days without reporting any new case in the community.
At present, over 15,429 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned from virus-hit areas are being monitored at hospitals, quarantine facilities, and at home.
