Kaspersky ready to share cybersecurity solutions with Vietnam
Kaspersky and its researchers have more than 20 years of experience and a range of security solutions they are ready to share with Vietnam, said Stephan Neumeier, Managing Director of Kaspersky Lab Asia Pacific. Like other countries around the world, COVID-19 has increased the number of internet users in Vietnam. Its growing influence and presence in everyday life opens up the possibility for cybercriminals to operate, he said.
Kaspersky has been working with the Vietnamese government for several years, with the aim of protecting the country against cybercrime and helping it improve its cyber resilience. The Russian company signed a memorandum of understanding with the Information Security Authority (AIS) in 2018 and another with the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) in 2019 Neumeier recalled.
Vietnam is implementing a nationwide campaign to examine and remove malware across the country. And according to him, this is a prime example of how public and private organizations can work together to create a more secure cyberspace. The Vietnamese government has worked with a number of private partners, including Kaspersky, he continued, believing that through their cooperation, the two sides would achieve the goals of the Vietnamese campaign to reduce malware infections and the number of IP addresses in ten popular botnets in Vietnam.
Regarding the potential of Vietnam and the prospects for bilateral cooperation, Mr. Neumeier said that Vietnam is a key market for Kaspersky in the Asia-Pacific region. The popularity of the internet in Vietnam is growing and will continue to increase over the next few years as the Vietnamese government actively promotes digitization and the Fourth Industrial Revolution alongside cybersecurity awareness efforts in the country. Kaspersky sees Vietnam as a regional cybersecurity hub and is honored to participate in its campaigns to create a secure cyberspace at the organized and national level, Neumeier said.
