Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh said the Party, State, and people of Vietnam always attach great importance to maintaining friendly relations with China and stand ready to strengthen their comprehensive strategic partnership.
He urged both countries to continue coordinating border management, supporting the Vietnam-China Land Border Joint Committee, cooperating in economics, trade, and tourism along their shared border, and promoting friendly exchanges and win-win partnerships between border localities.
Chinese State Counsellor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi called on Vietnam and China to resolve issues emerging along their shared border and improve border management. He said that settling land border and Gulf of Tonkin issues between the two countries provides valuable experience for resolving maritime disputes.
