It is impossible to imagine a modern man active in society without using mobile devices, computers with WiFi. The effect of cell phone radiation on male fertility is the subject of recent interest and research.
According to Dr. Pham Thi Thuy Duong, Clinical Head of Hong Ngoc IVF Center, there is a correlation between exposure to cell phone radiation, degree of DNA fragmentation and reduced sperm motility.
Studies have shown that the number of advanced motile spermatozoa in the group exposed to electromagnetic radiation is statistically significantly lower than in the group without cell phone effects. Locally motile sperm counts were significantly higher in the group affected by cell phone radiation. DNA fragmentation was also significantly higher in this group.
Causes of cell phone waves, and wifi affect sperm quality
Reduced sperm count and quality
Some studies on the problem of wifi waves causing infertility show that using phones and being exposed to wifi waves regularly can affect the production and timing of sperm production in men. Long-term exposure to wifi waves can reduce sperm density by almost a third, especially for healthy sperm.
This means that sperm motility, count and viability are all significantly affected by years of exposure to cell phones or wifi waves. A decline in sperm count and quality can inhibit male fertility, reduce the chances of a successful conception, and lead to infertility.
Decreasing Testosterone Levels
Pham Thi Thuy Duong pointed out, men who regularly use mobile phones and are exposed to wifi waves have lower testosterone levels than others. While, Testosterone is responsible for regulating a man’s sex drive, response, sexual activity, and semen production.
Therefore, a decrease in testosterone hormone levels in the body can lead to sexual disorders such as erectile dysfunction, inhibiting a man’s ability to perform sexually, as well as reducing the quantity and quality of sperm and increasing sperm count risk of infertility.
Affects sperm DNA
Cell phone radiation, wifi waves are toxic to genes, these radiations can cause damage (sometimes irreparably) to DNA. When sperm DNA is damaged, the body is unable to repair that damage.
Infertility researchers say that men who often put their laptops on their laps or keep their mobile phones in their pockets (near the genitals) are more likely to experience significant DNA damage.
Safety note when using phone, wifi
According to experts, there are a number of measures that can limit the effects of wifi radiation on men and enhance reproductive health as follows.
Limit exposure: Try to monitor time spent using or being near wifi transmitters to reduce exposure time when possible. For example, avoid putting your phone in your pocket or using your laptop directly on your lap.
Use products that block electromagnetic radiation: Shields of electromagnetic radiation from phones and wifi waves for laptops and phones can limit the effects of electromagnetic waves when in use.
Avoid 5G when possible: Because 5G is a new technology, the risks and side effects have not been well studied, so 5G waves can also affect reproductive health in many other ways together.
Beware of all electromagnetic waves
Not only phone waves or wifi, all kinds of electromagnetic waves can affect health. Electromagnetic waves include types such as radio waves, infrared, microwaves, visible light, ultraviolet, X-rays, and gamma rays. Electromagnetic waves are present everywhere. Heat from a fire, sunlight, energy used in microwave ovens, radio masts, data and signal transmission equipment, etc… are all forms of electromagnetic waves.
They not only affect reproductive health, but also can affect human health in general, such as hormonal changes, nervous tension, insomnia, etc…
