Event seeks to boost Ho Chi Minh City-Seoul tourism connection
NDO/VNA – A tourism promotion event was held in Ho Chi Minh City on August 3, seeking to boost tourism
The Seoul Metropolitan Government, in collaboration with the Seoul Tourism Organization, held the My Soul Seoul tourism promotion event in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday night at the GEM Center in District 1.
The event commemorated 30 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and South Korea, attracting thousands of Vietnamese K-pop fans to partake in a range of intriguing activities such as art performances and Korean beauty and fashion programs.
According to Oh Se Hoon, mayor of Seoul, South Korea and Vietnam have marked 2022 as a significant year, offering a possibility for the two countries to strengthen bilateral relations and boost tourism and other industries in the future.
“I want to thank the residents of Ho Chi Minh City who supported and accompanied us enthusiastically during the My Soul Seoul event,” said Kil Ki Yon, president and CEO of Seoul Tourism Organization.
“In the near future, we will continue to organize more events in response to the enthusiasm of the Vietnamese people.”
Attendees had the opportunity to meet South Korean make-up artist So Jung and hairstylist Kiu through an exchange program that trained audiences on how to apply eye-catching make-up and create hairstyles that complement each individual's features.
During the event, K-pop fans also enjoyed a fashion show that featured the newest Korean street fashion collection.
As part of the event, nine Vietnamese dance crews hit the stage with their performances to compete in the K-pop Cover Dance Festival, which was organized by Seoul Daily Newspaper.
He:Aven dance group won the first prize of the contest, and will represent Vietnam at the finale in Seoul, South Korea in October.
The most anticipated parts of the event were the gigs by top K-pop dance team HOOK, K-pop band HIGHLIGHT, and Vietnamese-South Korean singer Hari Won.
Fans applauded as HIGHLIGHT took the stage to perform their hit songs Daydream, Fiction, Not the End, Beautiful Night, and Plz Don't Be Sad.
This was the second time HIGHLIGHT had visited Vietnam.
