According to information from the Dong Nai Web Portal, this provincial People’s Committee has just had a meeting with the delegation of Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel) made by Major General Le Dang Dung, Chairman of the Group’s Board of Directors. At the meeting, Viettel Group’s leader said that over the past time, the two sides had many good results in cooperation, especially in the field of telecommunications. In line with the new development trend, Viettel wants to continue to expand cooperation with Dong Nai in areas such as digital tradition and e-commerce. Also according to the representative of Viettel, the Group is currently cooperating with some localities throughout the country to build a smart city with the core elements that can be produced. This ensures both security and confidentiality while using Vietnamese technology products at affordable prices.

Regarding the above proposal, Dong Nai People’s Committee Chairman Cao Tien Dung said that the province is gradually testing and building a smart city model. In addition to Viettel, there have been many units and partners coming to Dong Nai to introduce and propose cooperation in building a smart city. Some units have also built demos for their reference.

“Therefore, in order to participate, Viettel must coordinate with the concerned departments, branches and localities, including Bien Hoa City, to develop the best quality demonstration plan. Good products, meeting the development needs, building a smart city will be evaluated and selected, “Dung said.

It is known that Dong Nai is one of nearly 20 provinces and cities that carried out the earliest smart urban project in the country.

Currently, Dong Nai has initially implemented a number of intelligent monitoring and operating applications such as setting up a traffic management center to focus on bus journey monitoring, traffic surveillance camera systems, and control traffic signals, monitor waste water sources through automatic monitoring station system.

After a period of preparation, up to now, Dong Nai has piloted a smart city operating center with the support of International Progressive Joint Stock Company (AIC).
