HCMC – National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, which trades its HVN shares on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, will begin offering online check-in service to passengers departing from the Buon Ma Thuot airport in the Central Highlands province of Daklak on October 25.

The airline has so far provided online check-in services at 20 domestic and 30 international airports, the local media reported.

Passengers can save time by conducting check-in procedures on the airline’s official website at www.vietnamairlines.com or mobile app one to 24 hours before departure.

According to the carrier, the online check-in service will help make trips smoother and faster with just a few simple steps, avoiding queuing at the airport’s check-in area. The launch of online check-in services is one of the airline’s efforts in making it a digital airline.

Closing the trading session today, October 24, HVN lost over 5%, extending its falling streak for a third straight session.

On the HCMC bourse, losers outnumbered gainers by 430 to 45 due to a heavy sell-off. The VN-Index shed 33.67 points, or 3.3%, from the session earlier, at 986.15, the lowest in two years.

Nearly 655 million shares worth VND12 trillion changed hands, down 11.7% in volume and 17% in value, against the previous session.

Among 27 falling stocks in the VN30 basket, 10 plunged to their floor prices, including housing developer VHM, securities company SSI and lender TCB.

Steelmaker HPG fell into negative territory, but took the lead by liquidity on bourse with 28 million shares changing hands.

The HNX-Index of the Hanoi exchange also ended the session on a downbeat note, losing 7.91 points, or 3.64%, from the previous session, at 209.5, with 177 decliners and 33 advancers.

Securities firm SHS finished down, but became the most actively traded stock on bourse with a matching volume of 11.3 million shares.
