NDO – Sixty-seven farmers who gained outstanding achievements in the emulation movements related to production and business, solidarity, and sustainable poverty reduction during the 2017-2021 period in Ho Chi Minh City were honoured at a conference on March 10.


The conference was held by the Ho Chi Minh City Farmers’ Association to review the five-year-implementation of the farmers’ emulation movements in production and business, with the aim to get rich together, along with sustainable poverty reduction during 2017-2021 period.

In the past 5 years, the city witnessed 88,657 members and farmers registering to the emulation movement. Specifically, there are 73,275 households that have achieved the title of outstanding farmers in production and business at all levels.

During the 2017-2021 period, many members of the Ho Chi Minh City Farmers’ Association were honoured by the Vietnam Farmers’ Association including five outstanding Vietnamese farmers and four “scientists of farmers”.

The emulation movement has gradually affirmed its role and position in agricultural development in a sustainable and modern manner.

The movement has also contributed to boosting the application of scientific and technical advances and hi-tech and smart agriculture in production, thus bringing about high economic value to farmers.
