According to the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia, in January 2021, exports from Vietnam to Australia grew by 62.08% over the same period last year (statistics of the General Department of Vietnam Customs). Two-way turnover between Vietnam and Australia is estimated at nearly 873 million USD, 39.92% higher than the same period last year. In particular, Vietnam's export turnover to Australia reached nearly $ 392 million, 62.08% higher.
In January 2021, in addition to telephones, many export goods to Australia surged, such as seafood (increased by 106.09%), wood and wood products (increased by 69.95%), toys and parts of toys (increased by 218.11%), textiles (increased by 62.72%), footwear (increased by 72.47%), electric wires and cables (increased by 329.68%), plastics materials (increased by more than 900%), agricultural products and vegetables (increased by 37.16%), according to VGP.

As for industrial goods, the export data of 2020 and January 2021 shows that Vietnam's industrial development strategy has increasingly brought about notable achievements. To be specific, many industrial goods such as processing and manufacturing machinery, plastics, chemicals, raw materials, ... have shown strong growth.

It is known that in 2020, in addition to the application to connect the Viet-Aus trade market, the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia has promoted the organization of the first online international exhibition of Vietnamese goods sourcing in this country with a scale of hundreds of booths covering many industries of Vietnam. As a result, in 2020, although the Australian market decreased in overall global import to 5.14% (seasonally adjusted), the export from Vietnam to Australia still grew 2.65%.
This year, the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia said that, in addition to the Vietnam Sourcing Expo 2021, which would continue to be deployed on a national scale, every month, Biz dinner promotion events would be held by the Office, heading towards the goal of enhancing the participation of business associations in Australia, promoting Australian businesses and overseas Vietnamese enterprises to become distributors of Vietnamese products in Australia and neighboring countries. In addition, based on the situation of agricultural crops in the country, the Trade Office will boost consumption in Australia through the organization of promotion and branding.
