‘Canadian Delicacies’ fest offers premium products at preferential prices

The annual event is an opportunity for Vietnamese consumers to enjoy premium products from Canada at preferential prices, thanks to tariff reductions under the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) that both countries have signed.

Mr. Behzad Babakhani, Canadian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City spoke at the opening ceremony of the “Canadian Delicacies” festival

This year's April 28 - May 4 event presents famous Canadian products like lobster, oysters, Dungeness crab, ginseng, fruit, vitamins, nutrition food and beauty products.

One highlight of this year's event is the participation of government representatives from the provinces of British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, the Ontario Ginseng Growers Association, and the British Columbia Provincial Fruit Growers Association.

"Canadian Delicacies" is one of several events being organized by the Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City and the Canadian Embassy in Hanoi this year to promote Canadian food and seafood to the Vietnamese market.

Since 2015, Vietnam has been Canada's top trading partner among ASEAN countries. Agri-food and seafood are an important part of bilateral trade. The import of these items reached nearly 313 million Canadian dollars in 2021. Key Canadian products exported to Vietnam include grains, oilseeds, fish and crustaceans, fruit, beef and pork, and dairy products.
