From May 13 to 20, 1,500 Vietnam Airlines' front-line staff will be injected with anti-Covid-19 vaccine. Front-line staff includes those who have regular contact with customers, including pilots, flight attendants and airport staff.

According to a representative from Vietnam Airlines, the company willl use AstraZeneca vaccine. Clinic studies have proved that AstraZeneca is 62-90% effective in protecting vaccine recipients against Covid-19. Research has demonstrate the vaccine's safety, high ability in creating immune respond and low possibility in causing side effects for the elderly.

The vaccination will be carried out in a center for immunization under Vietnam National Children's Hospital. It is expected that 250 people will be vaccinated per day. Those who will be vaccinated will receive health checks and close mornitor after the injection.

Previously, about 800 Vietnam Airlines staff in Tan Son Nhat and Vinh airport were also vaccinated. This immunization campagne will raise the total number of Vietnam Airlines Group staff vaccinated to nearly 2.300.

In the coming time, Vietnam Airlines Groups will continue to coordinate with competent agencies to expand its immunization. The group aims to give 100% of its staff free vaccination using the group's wellfare budget.

"Immunization for the airline's front-line staff contributes to ensure safely not only for them but also for the customer and community, especially in the context that the pandemic is complicatedly developing," shared the airline's representative.
